Little Acorns Infant & Primary School
Little Acorns is a small, privately run British School where children learn and develop in a protected, happy and homely environment.
Little Acorns British Infant and Primary School delivers a truly British education utilising not only the English language but more importantly the methodologies for teaching and learning from the UK. Children from 12 months work with native English teachers and are immersed in a completely British experience.
Utilising the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum in our infant school and the British National Curriculum in our primary school, children learn through engagement and enjoyment. Our children are active participants in their own learning and because each child is unique, we use real life experiences and experimentation to facilitate learning. Children are encouraged to ask questions, to have debates and to problem solve.
Our children come from a wide range of nationalities. As a non-denominational school, we teach our children to be respectful, tolerant and accepting of the beliefs and faiths of one another. Our values are strong and children learn to manage their own behaviour, to show commitment to their work and to persist even when things are tough. It is of high importance that our children learn to be kind, to work in a team, to have a sense of belonging and to celebrate the successes of one another. A successful education at Little Acorns means that children are well rounded. Success is not measured on examination results but on becoming a unique, confident and capable individual who is not afraid to be who they want to be.
The Little Acorn´s model focuses attention on Literacy and Mathematics as the corner stones of accessing all areas of education however, we give high priority to performing arts, ICT and sports also. We offer a range of extra curricular clubs to promote these skills as well as focusing our in class attention to nurture these skills. Our belief is that children with special talents deserve to have those developed in an environment where they can be fully appreciated. Our adult to child ration is very favourable with small classes sizes and two teachers in each class, we can fully attend to each and every child offering opportunities to develop and grow each day.
In the coming years we will grow with the needs of our children, expanding through primary until the end of Year 6. This crucial time in education must be exciting and fuel the will for further learning as children grow into young adults and beyond.
